Rome in 3 Days: The Perfect Itinerary
A balanced three-day plan covering ancient Rome, the Vatican and the city's best food.
Three days is enough to fall in love with Rome. Day one: ancient Rome — the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill, then dinner in Monti. Day two: the Vatican in the morning and the historic centre in the afternoon — Pantheon, Trevi and the Spanish Steps. Day three: a food tour in Trastevere or a day trip to Tivoli, and a slow evening walk.
Book the big sights in advance and leave every evening free for wandering.
